A highly respected and rapidly growing national law firm, is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to support a partner and litigation practice group. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who enjoys taking ownership of their work, collaborating closely with attorneys, and contributing to high-level litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, revise, proofread, and format legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, correspondence, and appellate filings.
- Generate and update Tables of Authorities (TOA), Tables of Contents (TOC), and other court-required documents.
- Manage active litigation matters, coordinating with courts, clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses regarding hearings, depositions, trials, and case-related meetings.
- Assist with discovery management, trial preparation, deposition coordination, exhibit preparation, and trial binders.
- Handle federal, state, and local court e-filings and ensure compliance with court procedures and deadlines.
- Maintain electronic and physical case files within document management systems.
- Manage attorney calendars, meetings, travel arrangements, and expense reporting.
- Monitor litigation deadlines and collaborate with docketing teams to ensure critical dates are tracked and met.
- Enter attorney time, assist with billing processes, review proformas, and support matter management.
- Conduct conflict checks, open and close client matters, and prepare engagement documentation.
- Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external clients while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of litigation legal assistant experience.
- Experience supporting attorneys in a law firm environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local court filing procedures.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF software, TOA, TOC, and legal document formatting.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
